Embark on a Fall Getaway to Ozark National Forest

Fall is a magical time in the Ozarks. The weather is crisp, the fall foliage is bright, and the air is fresh. This is the perfect time of year for residents at the Academy at Frisco to get away and experience the rugged beauty of the Ozark National Forest. The Ozark National Forest is only a 40-minute drive from our apartments in Fayetteville, which means you can plan a day trip or a full weekend getaway.

About Ozark National Forest

The Ozark National Forest spans nearly 1.2 million acres of land in Arkansas. The Lake Wedington Recreation Area is one of the closest portions of the National Forest to Fayetteville, and it has a history unique enough to land in on the National Register of Historic Places. The area is notable because it was built and developed as a Depression-era Works Progress Administration (WPA) project.
