The Best Plant Nurseries in Fayetteville

Whether you’re dusting off your green thumb in preparation for spring or you’re just starting to explore the joys of gardening, Fayetteville has a range of businesses to choose from. From trees and shrubs to indoor plants, these plant nurseries close to our apartments near University of Arkansas have you covered.

Westwood Gardens has an incredible variety of plants, including rare, tropical species that never fail to wow customers. You can also find outdoor plants that are well-suited to the Arkansas climate, although when in doubt, feel free to ask for advice from staff. They can give you tips on ground cover, watering regimens, sun exposure recommendations, and anything else you might ask (as long as it’s plant-related, of course). Be sure to check out their featured plants to catch any exciting sales and promotions.

The main Westwood Gardens location was started in 1982 on Wedington Dr., where it remains today. With over 180,000 square feet of greenhouses, this location is hard to miss from the road. Their East Fayetteville location on Mission Blvd. offers a smaller storefront that’s packed with ideas and inspiration for your garden. Stop by either location Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM in the winter.

If you’re looking for native plants, this is the place to go. White River Nursery is family owned and caters to a range of customers including contractors and landscapers, as well as home gardeners. Their specialty happens to be native plants, so you’re sure to get ones that will thrive in the Ozarks. Or, stop by for some gorgeous indoor plants that also contribute to native plant conservation. Take a look at their events page to find any upcoming happenings. White River Nursery goes above and beyond and even offers deliveries and design services. Their hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM, but you can expect those to be extended during the growing season.

On April 26th and 27th, you can do more than look at beautiful plants at the botanic gardens; this annual plant sale features several horticulturalist vendors. Garden members can attend on the 26th from 5-8 PM for access to special pricing, light refreshments, and of course, first pick of the plants! On Saturday the 27th, the sale is open from 8 AM to 12 PM, so stop by early before the plants are gone. And as always, enjoy the beauty of the gardens.

For all of your gardening needs, whether you’re planting in the ground, in outdoor growing boxes, or indoors in plant pots, these nurseries offer excellent service.
