Lace Up For Fall Running Events in Fayetteville

With its moderate weather and beautiful scenery, it comes as no surprise that fall is race season for runners of all abilities. Whether you are a seasoned runner or you are just starting out, there is no better time to get outside and hit the pavement. Check out these upcoming races of a variety of distances and difficulties happening near our student apartments in Fayetteville.


October 12, 2019 

This 5K race course begins at Veterans Park and continues around the Lake Fayetteville Trail, promising beautiful autumn scenery to participants. The race takes place during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and aims to join the Fayetteville community together to stand against domestic violence and abuse. November 16, 2019

If you are ready to up the distance, try your hand at 13.1 miles in Fayetteville's popular half-marathon event. The course begins and ends at the University of Arkansas, winding through downtown and passing several points of interest in the city. You can expect a festival-like atmosphere and crowds cheering you on! The finish-line and post-party are located in The Gardens, where there will be food and drink to help you celebrate your big accomplishment.

If 13.1 miles sounds like too much of a commitment, you can still get in on the fun and compete in one of the companion races with distances of 10K, 5K, and a 'Fun Run/Walk'. Check out the course maps and register for your chosen distance.


November 23, 2019 

Ready to get off the roads and onto some dirt? Then the 7th Annual Kessler Trail Run is for you! This self-timed event encourages participants to get dirty and experience nature firsthand. The run begins at Kessler Mountain State Park and ends at Ozark Mountain Smokehouse, where there will be an after-party complete with live music, food trucks, and drinks. Proceeds from this race go to support the Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association and its efforts to protect natural areas of the region. You can learn more about this race here.
