6 Ways To Destress in Fayetteville This Semester

6 Ways To Destress in Fayetteville This Semester

Spring is here! This means flowers and bike rides and outdoor concerts! Unfortunately, spring semester is almost over so this also means due dates for final papers and projects are just around the corner as well. Do not worry! There are easy and CHEAP ways to de-stress and keep your brain working around our apartments near University of Arkansas.

1) Get Outside

Wilson Park

As the weather warms up, take a walk through Fayetteville's oldest park. Boasting 22.75 acres in the center of the city, this park hosts an art installation of a castle by the famous Frank Williams. Take a walk along the trail if you need some extra inspiration, it is equipped with "inspirational quote poles" lining the way. This park is dog-friendly, so be sure to bring your furry friend or friends!

2) Eat Better

Fayetteville's Farmers Market

Believe it or not, quality, inexpensive foods are available year round in Fayetteville's Historic Square. Find fresh local goods Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7am-1pm. Each farmer grows and harvests within 60 miles of Fayetteville, meaning you'll be able to buy ingredients so fresh, Whole Foods would be jealous. Don't know what is in season? Fear not, Fayetteville Visitor Center made this handy chart to help!

3) Treat Yourself

Dickson Street

Massage your ears with some live music. Find some therapy in the local retail. Analyze some local art. Dickson Street is THE PLACE to be for entertainment, dining, shopping, and nightlife.

4) Switch Brain Gears

Terra Studios

Studies show concentration improves if you take a break every once in a while. Ever wanted to learn how to work with clay? fabrics? jewelry? Terra Studios has a calendar full of events and classes to attend if you need a creative break. This is also a common place for hundreds of local artists to show off their creations. Who knows, one could spark an idea in you!

5) Reward Yourself for Getting This Far

Rymolene's Pies

Just because the semester isn't over, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be proud for all the work you've done up until this point! Luckily for you, the best pie in all of Arkansas is down the street. Not only is it inexpensive, but it does not have a single bad review. Locals describe Rymolene's Pies as "perfectly balanced with flavor" and "the friendliest place I've ever been to in my life".

6) Dream of Summer Vacation

First Thursdays/ Summer Concert Series

Starting May 2nd, the town of Fayetteville gets together to create an outdoor arts district. While First Thursdays happen on, you guessed it, the first Thursday of every month, the Summer Concert Series is every other Thursday and features local bands and performing artists. Join everyone down at Historic Square for art, music, food, and fun.
