Fun Summer Activities in and Around Fayetteville
There is still time to get out and enjoy fun summer activities in Fayetteville! Whether it's visiting a colorful local market, taking a hike in beautiful surroundings or getting out for a baseball game, you're well positioned to take advantage of all this at our Academy at Frisco student apartments near the University of Arkansas.
Check out the Farmers Market
The Fayetteville Farmers Market in Downtown Square has been offering great local produce since 1973 and makes for a fun Saturday morning outing. In addition to the freshest in fruits and vegetables, you'll find baked goods, meats, honey, plants, and flowers, as well as an interesting range of arts and crafts. There's also live music plus food trucks to satisfy your breakfast or lunch hunger. The market is open Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. through November 17th and is also open Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 30th. The market moves inside on December 1st.
Have a Hike In Devil's Den
One of the jewels of the Arkansas State Park system, Devil's Den State Park offers a nearby getaway to enjoy the beauty of nature and the mountains. Original structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s remain intact. There is canoeing, boating and fishing on Lake Devil plus a variety of hiking trails that lead you to some of the Park's rock formations, caverns, and waterfalls, as well as mountain biking and horseback riding.
Cheer on the Naturals!
Nothing says summer like a baseball game, and we have our own professional team, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals! Playing ball in Arvest Stadium in nearby Springdale (just 12 miles north of the city), the Naturals are in the Texas League and are a Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. The team often offers special promotions to its fans, as well as plenty of on-field fun between innings, plus there are fireworks after Friday games! There are August home games remaining, so head to the stadium and cheer on the team!
